Mr. Thomas Chen
President
Crystal Window & Door Systems Ltd.


Mr. Thomas Chen came to the United States from his native Taiwan in 1982 at the age of 27. After working for several years for others, he started his own business in 1985 manufacturing and installing window guards and gates. A year later, he and partners began making windows as well. In 1990, Mr. Chen and his partners formed the company that eventually became Crystal Window & Door Systems. He took the leadership role of president shortly thereafter.
During his company’s rise, Mr. Chen sought assistance from organizations such as the New York City based Asian American Business Development Center, the Jamaica Business Resource Center, and the Queens Chamber of Commerce to understand and to adapt to American business practices. Mr. Chen is a tireless entrepreneur who understands every aspect of his business and the industry. The company has grown so quickly and now is one of the top 65 window manufacturers in North America.
As an employer, Mr. Chen is committed to the people of the community, hiring local minority workers whenever possible. Mr. Chen’s business honors include listing by Crain’s New York Business magazine as one of the 100 Most Powerful Minority Business Leaders for 2003. He is the 2002 recipient of the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce National Excellence in Business Award, one of the 50 “Outstanding Chinese Americans in Business” for 2001, and a winner of the 2000Ernst & Young NYC Region Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
 

Mr. Steve Chen

Mr. Steve Chen has overall responsibility for the operations of Crystal Windows & Door Systems, its curtain wall and high-end fenestration efforts and its aluminum extrusion subsidiary. With his primary focus on sales and marketing efforts, he directs large-scale projects, from proposal and estimation through production and delivery, through his experienced staff of professionals. Steve also guides corporate issues such as strategic marketing and advertising initiatives, branch office operations, sales strategies for Crystal Extrusion Systems,

 
Rev. Devon Dawson
Pastor
All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle Inc.


Reverend Dawson graduated at the top of his class in 1971 from Caribbean Bible Institute (CBI) in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, and was ordained on March 22, 1974.


He pioneered the United Pentecostal Church in Guyana and established the Apostolic Bible Institute, which is the training arm of the United Pentecostal Church of Guyana. He later assumed the responsibility as resident missionary for Trinidad & Tobago and Surinam. During his tenure on the mission field, he was involved in the establishment of fifteen (15) churches in Guyana, five (5) in Trinidad & Tobago, and one (1) in Surinam.


As a member of the Executive Board of the Caribbean Conference of the United Pentecostal Church International, Pastor Dawson played a key role in formulating the organizational thrust of Pentecostal Churches in the Caribbean and South American regions.
As Pastor of All Nations Apostolic Church, Reverend Dawson led the congregation in the acquisition of a landmark building which was constructed in 1891, and a parsonage to house the then assembly in 1998, and more recently, a 2,500 seat complex—New Deliverance Tabernacle located at 21936/40 Jamaica Avenue in Queens Village.
With the recent acquisition of 219-36/40 Jamaica Avenue which has expanded the church’s portfolio to three (3) properties, Reverend Dawson’s vision is to create an Evangelism Center that will cater to the spiritual needs of his congregants and the community. Also, 89-22/28 Parsons Boulevard will be redesigned as a multicultural center to provide philanthropic services, a full-fledged Day Care Center, after school programs, Senior Adult Day Services and Bible School headquarters.
Married for thirty-two (32) years, Reverend and Mrs. Dawson’s family includes three daughters, two sons-in-law, and one grandson.
The Jamaica Business Resource Center has provided technical assistance and access to capital through the congregation’s growth from worshipping in the gymnasium of the Jamaica YMCA, to the acquisition

 
Ms. Theresa Quinones
President/CEO

Ms. Theresa Quinones began her career in 1983 as an apprentice painter with D.C. 9 Painters Union. Approximately a year later, she was advanced to Master Painter.
Ms. Quinones launched professional Touch Painting Inc. December 2002. PTP was incorporated in2003 as a certified minority/woman-owned business enterprise, licensed and insured in New York, with NYC Department of Consumer Affairs, Port Authority of NY & NJ, DASNY, SUNY, Empire State, Albany County and School Construction.


Ms. Quinones believes she would not be where she is now without the love and support of her family: Mother, Sarah Haynes; Sisters, Colleen Jinks, Pam Haynes and Vanessa Quinones; brother, Glen Haynes, sons, Jamorie Lattimore and Warren Rolling and mentor/friends like Earl Francis and Timothy Marshall, JBRC.
In 2006 Professional Touch Painting completed jobs at York College, City College of NY, 290Broadway, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse, and Newark Airport.
Professional Touch is currently working on several major projects, i.e. Albany County Courthouse, renovating Kingsborough Psychiatric Hospital, and Old Westbury College.
PTP will be starting the following projects in the New Year: JFK Airport, Cadman Plaza Courthouse,26 Federal Plaza, 201 Varick St. and the NY Thruway in Newburgh, NY.
 

Dr. Magalie Alfred

Dr. Magalie Alfred, diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatrics, has received her medical degree from the State University of Haiti Medical School in 1985. After graduation, she accomplished one yearof social medicine and came to the United States where she completed training in general Pediatrics at St. Vincent Medical Center in New York, in 1990. She then pursued a three year post-graduate training in Pediatric Nephrology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is the author of a book chapter on Kidney trauma in children edited by Philip Lanzkowski of Scheinder Children’s Hospital. She attended Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn from 1994 to 1997, as Assistant Professor in general Pediatrics and Chief in Pediatric Nephrology. She was the first physician to perform dialysis in children at that Center.
Since 1997, she has been running a private practice in Far Rockaway, Queens; and two years ago, she started another practice in Queens where she serves mainly the Jamaica, St. Albans, Cambria Heights, Queens Village, Hollis area. Broad Communication Technology LLC (BCT) was established in early 2003 with Thomas Vallejo’s vision to become an Internet Service Provider. Soon after, Mr. Gil Palacio joined the company to become Mr. Vallejo’s partner and BCT’s Vice President. Their business model premise was that the larger Internet Providers have become difficult to work with, filled with unnecessary requirements causing the entire interconnecting process to become a hassle, rather than a simple, customer oriented business.


BCT saw an opportunity to build a custom-made, flexible, “each-client-unique-need” scenario toserve a variety of companies with an easy and effortless way of getting connected to the Internet, and with client’s own dedicated circuit.
BCT has located it’s operations in lower Manhattan at a facility which is regarded as one of the mostessential Telecom facilities in New York City. They have created a Core backbone that consists of Tier 1 providers and top of the line Cisco equipment. By associating with top level engineers and focusing on the VOIP market, BCT has extended its services throughout the U.S. and now South America. BCT’s international plan of action includes on-going negotiations to establish a long-term presence in Ecuador as a backbone provider with similar plans for Honduras.
Mr. Thomas Vallejo holds a BA degree in Computer Science from St. John’s University and has been in the Telecommunication Industry for nearly 10 years. He has considerable expertise in theindustry, having held technical and managerial positions at Sprint, Network Plus, One Communication, ATG, Americatel and The Telx Group. His accomplishments include certifications in Cisco, Lucent, ECI, Marconi, Quintum and Nextone as well as certificates in A+ and Network Plus.
Mr. Gilberto W. Palacio is responsible for Sales and Marketing at BCT. He has a B.A. degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Hunter College. He brings diverse telecom experience which includes Lucent Technologies’ 5EES, and works in fiber optic technology with prominent companies. He is also responsible for new customer acquisition and contract negotiations.
BBT is one of the first clients for JBRC’s new International Trade Division, in partnership with the U.S.
