Owen Jackson
Owen Jackson is currently the Director of Procurement
and E-Commerce for the Jamaica Business Resource Center (JBRC).
Mr. Jackson oversees all
public and private sector procurement programs, policies and procedures for
the MBDC client base. Maintains knowledge of the electronic commerce and
Internet activity, including assisting clients in obtaining procurement
opportunities through Internet and Intranet activities, with specific focus
on marketing and sales strategies. Mr. Jackson works directly with clients
in developing comprehensive procurement strategies, sales strategies, and
monitor and accesses government agency, corporate, and other public and
private sector procurement opportunities. Mr. Jackson provides on-going
advice and support to both Business Advisors and clients.
Prior to joining JBRC,
Mr. Jackson was the Co-Founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of
Hugh & Cameron Systems Advantage, Inc., an IT consulting firm with offices
in New York and Washington, DC. Mr. Jackson managed the day-to-day
operations of the firm and secured contracts with a diversity of businesses
throughout the metropolitan area. Mr. Jackson’s areas of expertise include:
Project Management and Strategic Planning; Software Product Development and
Network Management; Relationship and Team Building; Decision Making and
Problem Solving; Budget and Forecasting and Federal and State
Procurement/Certification. Mr. Jackson also gained experience as a research
chemist for General Foods Corp., Maxwell House Coffee Division and Union
Carbide, Ucon Fluids Division. Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Chemistry from York College of The City University of New York.
He also completed the Small Business Executive Education Program at the
University of Alaska Anchorage, College of Business and Public Policy. Mr.
Jackson is affiliated with the American Management Association (AMA) and the
Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM).
